On August 9th 2013 Google celebrates Wilbur Norman Christiansen’s 100th Birthday on the Australian Google Site with a nice animated Doodle. Can you see the blinking star?
Wilbur Norman Christiansen was a pioneer Australian radio astronomer. He specialized in radio astronomy and radio telescopes
Christiansen built the first grating array for scanning the sun at the radio astronomy field station at Potts Hill, New South Wales. A later array at Badgerys Creek, New South Wales, the Chris Cross Telescope, was named for Christiansen. For many years, he was chairman of the electrical engineering department at the University of Sydney.
